About the Tanzania Visa
βThe Tanzania government introduced the Tanzania online visa application in November 2018 to streamline the process of obtaining a tourist visa, also known as the Ordinary Visa for Tanzania and Zanzibar. The visa allows eligible citizens from various countries to travel to and within Tanzania and Zanzibar for tourism, leisure, or visiting friends and relatives. The duration of stay permitted depends on the applicant’s nationality, ranging from a maximum of 30 to 90 days.
βTo obtain a Tanzania Visa, applicants must complete a straightforward online application form, providing personal details, travel information, and passport data. Once approved, applicants receive an official Tanzania Visa.
βValidity and Length of Stay
βThe Tanzania Visa is valid for 90 days from the indicated date on the Approved Visa Grant Notice. The authorized length of stay is mentioned on the Grant Notice, with each visit limited to a maximum of 30 days. The visa allows single entry to Tanzania or Zanzibar, permitting travel between the two regions. However, citizens of the United States can obtain a multiple-entry visa valid for 12 months, allowing stays of up to 90 days.
βPort of Entry
βVisa holders must enter the United Republic of Tanzania (including both Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar) through specific entry points. These includeΒ Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA), Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (AAKIA), Namanga border, Tunduma border, or via sea entry.
