Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut
Elevation: 1,500 m to 2,514 m
Distance: 10 km

Habitat: Montane Forest
After breakfast, depart from Arusha or Moshi and drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. Following registration, begin your trek accompanied by an armed park ranger.
The trail passes through open grasslands and dense montane forest where wildlife sightings are common. Along the way, enjoy views of waterfalls, giant fig trees, giraffes, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.
Arrive at Miriakamba Hut in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut – Little Meru
Elevation: 2,514 m to 3,570 m
Distance: 8 km

After breakfast, continue ascending through lush forest and heath vegetation. The trail offers excellent views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone.
Arrive at Saddle Hut around lunchtime. After resting, take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m), which provides magnificent panoramic views and helps prepare your body for summit day.
Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak – Miriakamba Hut

Wake around midnight and begin the summit ascent under the stars.
Pass Rhino Point (3,800 m) and Cobra Point (4,350 m) as you climb the narrow volcanic ridge toward the summit. Reach Socialist Peak (4,566 m) at sunrise and enjoy one of East Africa’s most spectacular views, including Mount Kilimanjaro floating above the clouds.
After photographs and celebrations, descend back to Saddle Hut for a short rest before continuing to Miriakamba Hut for your overnight stay.
